PROGRAMME

BOOK SPACE AT DE KROOK LIBRARY

On 18 June 2026, the iconic De Krook Library in Ghent will host the official opening of a summer programme running until the end of August

Visitors can look forward to a full-day programme connecting literature, book design, printmaking, and international professional exchange. The event offers an open format – most of the programme is accessible to the public, and visitors are welcome to join at any time throughout the day.

The opening at De Krook celebrates the book in all its forms – from creation and printing to reading and sharing. The programme connects the public with professionals and creates space for inspiration, dialogue, and new international collaborations.

Morning Opening & BOOK SPACE

The programme begins at 10:00 in the BOOK SPACE with an official welcome from De Krook Library and Kristýna Halounová, Director of the Czech Centre Brussels. The opening will include an introduction to the day’s programme and the distribution of printed materials.

From 10:15 to 18:00, BOOK SPACE will transform into a vibrant hub of workshops and performances. This segment offers a unique opportunity for secondary school students and teachers to take part in creating a public programme alongside professionals.

Informal Closing & Networking

Informal Closing & Networking
The day will conclude at 17:30 with an informal gathering at De Krook Café. Visitors and professionals alike will have the opportunity to make new connections, share experiences, and discuss future collaborations.
