FLORA

Jonáš Zbořil, Paseka, 2024, 168 pages

Adam and Sára, longtime partners, find a strange creature on their way home one night and take it to their grandmother’s cottage. The cottage is in Stepi, a part of the city gradually turning into a wasteland.

They name it Flora — it looks unlike anything familiar, but Sára gradually forms a bond with it. The pair decide to stay in Stepi and care for Flora.

A tender yet eerie novella with dystopian elements about parenthood and a new nature emerging under our hands.
